THE FUTURE AIN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE

Sometimes the best insights for tomorrow come from a look back. That’s why I’m recommending Alvin Toffler’s “Future Shock,” published in 1970. He wrote then about the psychological shock we experience from rapid change and information overload.

That was before cell phones with Internet browsers, instant messaging, text messaging, wireless handhelds, Twitter and social networking sites for business. Information overload has become in-touch central. And the pace of change has escalated dramatically. As oft-quoted science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke wrote, “The future ain’t what it used to be.”

Yet, technology continues to deliver untold and ever-changing benefits. At Spiris, we’re aware of this escalated pace of change, and we see it as our job to help you manage this so you can be more successful. We embrace the potential and value, known and unknown. The future is here, and it’s coming at us faster than ever, so strap yourself in for the ride.
