"Spiris makes the process easy and does a great job of finding good protection at affordable rates. I would most definitely recommend their services to other pilots."

"Throughout the process, Dave Hutchison at Spiris impressed me as someone who wanted to do good work, not just sell me a policy. When his quotes came through, everything was in good order and his pricing was significantly less than anyone else. Over the years, Dave has always maintained the hard working attitude that impressed me so many years ago."
Take to the Skies With LangaAir
PRIVATE, COMMERCIAL TRAINING OFFERED AT TWO SITES
Safe landings aside, takeoffs and air time call pilots to a lifetime in the skies. That’s true for Irvin J. Langa, now capping off his decades-long corporate pilot career through his business, LangaAir.
Weighing in with 40 years’ experience and 18,000 hours, Langa today serves the business as a consultant.
Full-service, Fixed-base Operator
Launched as a maintenance facility, LangaAir added flight school training in 1999. “We still have the maintenance facility and do outside maintenance,” says Lisa Lynch, flight school manager.
Headquartered at St. Louis Regional Airport in East Alton, Ill., with a second base opened in 2009 at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, Mo., LangaAir is a fixed-base operator employing 30. It offers maintenance, fueling and flight training.
Financing, College Degree Available
“Several things differentiate us,” Lynch says. “We have a newer fleet of aircraft, we utilize a CD-based training program for ground study, and we’re highly focused on career training.”
Two other advantages: it offers financing, and students can earn associate’s degrees through Lewis and Clark Community College. LangaAir’s enrollment averages between 100 and 150.
As a Cessna Pilot Center, it offers systematic, structured training that’s efficient and cost-effective. Students learn on 11 Cessna 172s, two C172RGs and two Piper Seminole twin-engine planes at St. Louis Airport and on five Cessna 172s, a C172RG and a Piper Seminole at Spirit of St. Louis. Both bases have simulators.
Spiris ‘Was on It’
“The pricing was right,” Lynch says of Spiris. “That was the biggest thing we were looking for—the coverage we need at a great price.”
“Dave Hutchison flew in to meet with us. That was nice,” says Kathy Adler, bookkeeper. “We had talked to others, given our information, and never heard from them again. We heard from Spiris. Dave was on it. He took care of what we needed and got it all set up.”
